Work in the ministry?
I am a member of the Men of Integrity, although I am not a part of any other specific ministry, if Pastor or First Lady call with a request, I can usually assist in whatever they need; moving the church organ from their former home in San Leandro to Berkeley to Oakland and then back to San Leandro. I also assist Bro. Humphrey with security on Wednesday nights and course the MOI vs. CEO basketball game. But mostly, I keep my eye on Pastor’s surroundings for any unusual behavior when he’s preaching to ensure his well being.
Member Bio(briefly tell us about your family, interests, hobbies, etc.)?
I have a lovely, lovely, lovely wife (Sherri Givans) and four kids (Dorian, Brittany, C’airra & Amir). They’re all great kids because they haven’t given us any true problems. Although I love the aspect of coaching basketball, I am totally in it to guide inner-city kids to college. These are kids that “society” says can’t make it and I thrive off proving society wrong. If I can use basketball as a tool to allow them to get a higher education, then so be it; I’m guilty of that. I know so many people throughout the Bay Area and enjoy making phone calls to help people in whatever way possible to better their lives. I also have a huge love for Jazz, which my grandfather introduced me to in college.

I pray for people who I’ve had problems with in the past and ask GOD to change MY thought process about them and to get over that hurdle. I have had a temper in the past with certain things, and with the help of my very rational wife that GOD gave me, I have balance and I think first.
Why did you make the decision to be a part of this ministry?
The family aspect of Revelation. I grew up in what some would call an unorthodox family setting. My father has kids from a previous marriage and my parents had me stay the entire summers with them so that I would always be close to my other siblings. We had Christmas breakfast at our house with everyone including my dad’s previous wife and her husband, and then we’d have dinner at their house, all with no drama.
What do you love most about Revelation Christian Fellowship?
The great passion that MY Pastor has for his Lord and Savior. I’ve been here since the beginning and I’ve seen the transformation and elevation of Revelation and it’s heading in the right direction.
